As does a .357 to the skull I have discovered. Then there was the time I picked off one of those Bull Mastiffs with a shot to the neck with a .22 magnum. That one ran, but fell way short of making it home. It had already killed one moose calf and was after the second one when I stepped in. I had been gunning for that one for a while after it and it's mate drug a bull moose down in the highway and mauled it badly enough that it died the next day.
