Where did that guy get a counterfeit $20 bill he supposedly tried to pass at a convenience store? Has that bill been traced back to a distributor? How likely is it that he came into possession of that $20 in the normal course of business... received it in change from another store for example? Is it possible the clerk was blaming the guy for a counterfeit $20 taken from another customer? Unless I’m mistaken an individual or store or bank which turns a counterfeit bill over to the feds is just out that value. Most counterfeit bills are smaller bills altered by the person who passed it .
