Jay Inslee's office on Wednesday announced that the state will be returning a field hospital deployed to CenturyLink Field Event Center to the U.S. Department of Defense. The 250-bed facility, for which setup began on March 30, was intended to help Washington state's health care system tend to non Covid-19 patients in the event of a hospital surge. But just three days after announcing the facility was ready to receive patients, officials say they're returning the hospital to the federal government. The action is aimed at helping another state with a more significant need for hospital capacity at this time, according to the Governor's Office. The facility did not see any patients during the time it was slated to operate in Seattle. Dric902 Posted April 12, 2020 Share Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) Ok, here’s the situation. three crews have been exposed to The Rona by a cab driver (company provided) who tested positive. 20 rooms at the lodging (compan provided) have been taken out of service until they can be “sanitized” by the minimum wage workers. they put the crews in a supervisors vehicle (alone) to drive to the train to take them back home. The engine will be “sanitized” by the engine house workers that they just screwed two months ago, and put them all on “labor rate” rather than pay them for their qualifications and schools. the CARES Act gave the Railroad Retirement Board money to double the RRB sick pay from $600 every two weeks to $1200 and waive the two week waiting period. two things; 1. The issue with the company (to be referred to as the Assholes) is that you must be able to definitively show that you got The Rona from working in order to have liability. These men have a obviously been exposed at work, and have been given a company order to quarantine. do they go home and expose their families? 2. The Company determines that they aren’t sick and are not eligible for the RRB sick pay, but can only get RRB unemployment (that they don’t pay into) of $600 every two weeks (taxable of course) and this will go on the work record as ‘out of service’ time. RRB unemployment has a two week waiting period. the company will, of course, make a claim to the Federal Railroad Administration under the various phases of the CARES Acts for expenses in transportation and sanitation. we are essential but expendable .
