My taxes increased $2500+ a year

we lost the best paying route in the system

the company demands that we reduce crew size (theres only two) or pay cut.

more for health and welfare (self funded)

there are airlines that are demanding that flight crews live within a certain distance (followed by reduced call times)

there are many other things to be considered. Appointments to federal agencies and boards can have huge impacts on industries (transportation, air, rail, coal, etc) when a ‘businessman’ president comes along and appoints pro company boardmembers to some of these groups that set guidelines and regulations, it can make a big swing in a short time.

example:

Positive Train Control. Many crashes with operators texting results in automatic control of trains to prevent the crashes.

Sounds reasonable, to someone who doesn’t do it. every crash you saw was a passenger train, every freight crash was rail, car, obstruction related.
Every freight train has two people on the head end, passenger has one. if he is texting or sleeping.......nothing

when they can to us to ask for suggestions we said “put conductors in the engine, like we do”. They banned cell phones. (If they knew how much of the railroad was ran by cell phone, they never would have banned them)

Positive Train Control was a catch-all for updating tech. Granted it needed updating, and the advancements have been significant and are very helpful when operating a train. Have you seen fewer crashes.....no

but the industry has, after taking all the fed money for R&D, implemented the system. Interestingly just as the fed money was drying up. But what do you do after that?

”since we have PTC, we don’t need two people on the head end. Reduce the crew to one person or we will cut the pay of both”

I hate to tell you but, it doesn’t work nearly as well or as effectively as want. Whenever there is an issue (often) the first thing we are told by the ‘help desk’ is

”ok to run without it’

Who knew that the one district in the state of Minnesota was so strategic.
.

It was in the sense that the density of Somali's ensured a Muslim Congressperson. Dispersed, they had little impact.  Now it's an area many avoid.

This is the most "liberal" state!  According to some evaluations I have seen published.

You don't want your followers too intelligent, they may try to think for themselves.

I think it was low hanging fruit. Not known for voter turnout, the DNC thought it would be an easy seat.
Then she opened her mouth, now they likely won’t keep the seat

Going to be a task to get someone who can think, voted in by a majority of Somalis.

The local voters who didn’t bother to vote last time are getting pretty motivated to get rid of her

However the non-Somali  in that district are pretty low in numbers.  The reason for the concentration.

We can always hope!

The politicians in charge always seem to push for more control and power over the people to the extent of taking away their right to dissent and even to forcibly change government.

This tells you quite clearly just what they have in mind for their citizens if they can just subjugate them.   Pee on them.  Fight for your rights.  Back the Sheriffs that protest this!
