Thanks for the links. I'll have to read up on those two a little more closely.

Thanks for the links. I'll have to read up on those two a little more closely. I had Samael's last night. It was quite an experience, should have taken a photo of it in the glass, an orange like amber, or amber like orange color. Heavily influenced by the barrel, but not bourbon/scotch heavy in note. My preferred style is dark (Stout/Porter, and traditional browns) but this was a very enjoyable sipper. I sipped it like a good liquor, which is probably a good thing based on it's alcohol content. Will update when I try the Beast. I may soon, as Samael's was so different an experience. Both have been in my fridge for a while. I might have to see if the store has more of them.

Yeah, those are definitely sipping beers, although most beers are sipping beers for me these days now that I am an old geezer nearing 50. Based on what you've posted here I am going to have to visit two places near me that are likely to have these in stock. My guess is they are probably what, $7-10 bucks per bottle? I will keep my eyes peeled for your report on the The Beast. I am a big fan of Grand Cru beers!

I'm guessing you're accurate as I didn't buy them (Mr cheap ass here most of the time) and my lovely bride did to thank me. Yeah, I've got quite a gal. Doesn't drink a drop herself, but knows I truly enjoy a good beer.

It took some time but I was able to graduate her from Corona some years ago. Now she can appreciate the good stuff.

KBKEITH
I found a special release one today. Bourbon Barrel aged black cherry porter. This has to be tasty. Edited September 29, 2017 by KBKEITH
KBKEITH
My Friday beer purchase also included these. What is weird is when I am checking out the girl said today is your lucky day. I was like, say what? She took one beer out of the six and it was a Short's Brewing 13th Anniversary Ale. It's a dry-hopped sour with black currants. I have no idea how it made it's way into that 6-pack. Btw, that Bim Boom Bam stout is really good...and strong. 10.3%

KWalrad
Posted this over on GT, but it was so good I wanted to share it with TBS's beer fans. Try it if you can find it, it's good stuff!

Tons of flavor what with the cherry and the sour. I'm keeping it on my list of beers to buy again. It didn't list the ABV on the can, but it had some kick to it too. I recommend testing it if you can find it.

I'm not sure I would like a sour taste in my beer, but I will taste almost anything once. I'm guessing Total wine will either have it, or be able to get it for me. KWalrad
Total Wine might, I haven't been in one in a while. I found this at a Spec's in the Dallas area. Sours are an accustomed taste. Not for a lot of folks, but I've liked the ones that I've tried. This one was a keeper. KBKeith turned me on to them. He's like the Rainman of beers. If you can find it, let me know what you think. Remember though, don't take a big gulp. Give it a sip at first and let the flavors sink in before swallowing.

KWalrad
Thanks Steve. I never would have guessed that it was that low. It had a little punch to it.
