Boogieman Posted September 9, 2018 Share Posted September 9, 2018 Will an SF mag fit a non SF gun? Looking to buy a bunch more mags for my Gen 2 and 3 G20's. CDNN has a descent price on G20SF mags. I can't find anything online. There is no difference. On the SF frame all they changed was the backstrap where they reduced the size of the "Hump", They did not change the dimensions of the mag well. I was gonna take my shooting partners new G19x for a spin this morning so I loaded up a couple of my Gen5 mags with my own ammo. Went to seat the mag and it wouldn’t go. I though maybe I had overloaded the mag by one round and that’s why it wouldn’t seat. Nope. Locked the slide open and tried again to seat it and then I saw what was happening. The extended lip on the gen5 mag doesn’t fit the distinct new profile of the G19x magwell in the front. Loaded up some gen4 mags and rocked on.
