Y'all are preoccupied with indignation and the affront to common values that you are ignoring the purpose.

How many folk were talking about, twittering about, Nike last week?

Or celebrity newsreaders breathlessly reporting on Nike or professional liars endlessly debating a shoe company in their stentorian manner on the hallowed floors of Congress last week?

Nike wins.

I suggest that the company couldn't care less about a washed-up, hippie socialist, ex-quarterback.

Nike wins? They would only win if we continue not to care.

I'm a member of a private group of 3,000+ day traders and investors. Topic no 1 in our Sunday's 'stocks for the week' talk was NKE. Countless people sold their position first thing, and removed the ticker from their watch lists.

On the next trading day, Tuesday, Nike lost about $3.75 billion in market cap soon after opening hours. Where I come from, that's not called wining. Nike will have to do some serious explaining to their shareholders.

In 2016 a girl named Noi Supaiai was speaking at Penn State about the abusive working conditions in a Nike factory located in her homeland of Thailand. She used a translator to tell her story. It is gutwrenching and the story is from 2016, well before this Nike and Colin Kaepernick nonsense blew up the Internet like a puffer fish on speed.

Mom went there 50 odd years ago.  Every so often I head up that way and drive by there.  The museum they have is pretty impressive.  It has the largest gun collection I’ve seen in person.

As you’ve probably heard by now, Nike employed Colin Kaepernick for its latest “Just Do It” campaign. The company’s shares fell as much as 3.9 percent on Tuesday. But the move also generated more than $43 million in media exposure in less than one day, according to a marketing group.

This does not effect me in any way.

The last time I bought anything with the Nike brand on it was.........never.

His ugly mug on Nike adds will have the same effect on my buying decision as if he were to be on the front of tampon boxes.

More proof that Nike may have made a good business decision.

They’re a branding and marketing company that’s in business to make money.  The louder people scream, the more coverage they get.

From all indications here, they’re doing pretty well, like it or not.
