Quickling
The short answer is yes. The long answer is its going to be expensive. I've seen model 10s that had custom front sights installed. You might be able to find some information on who would do it by asking around the smith and wesson forums. Collim1
I agree its possible, but probably not cost effective. I would find a model with adjustable rear sights and a pinned front sight. Keep the model 10 sleek and trim like its supposed to be. I really like the fixed sight models.
DieselMcBadass
its a model 27, not 10. My problem is i shoot at a covered range and fiber optics are the only real good option for there. The orange blade is just fine in field conditions.
DieselMcBadass
also open to gold bead, i do have a feeling rear notch would have to be opened up to use either, i love the gun all around except the sights
Borg warner
So with a model 27, by fixed sights you're actually talking about a adjustable sights but the front sight is not removable or changeable. A good gunsmith could figure out a way to mill a groove where the front blade is and create a blade that could be pinned into the groove if you ever wanted to return it to something very close to original and then create another blade that would mount a fiber optic sight. DieselMcBadass
yes should of been more clear, adjustable rear fixed front.
willieH
I'd suggest you try painting the front sight with a bright paint first before mucking with machining a FO housing into the sight. Some of the newer S&W revolvers have a quick change feature for the front sight.
