GlockTrader45
Picked up a "Certified Pre-Owned" Sig P224 the other day. I've been wanting one of these for a while. I know Sig discontinued these chunky pistols, but I really wish they had pursued the design a bit longer and made it a real competitor. I really like hammer-fired pistols and I think this may just turn into my EDC. Haven't been to the range with it yet, but I did manage to snap some photos with my P229 in a side-by-side. Enjoy!
Collim1
I was interested in one years ago when they were first announced. I was carrying a P226 on duty at the time and wanted the mag interchangeability ala Glock 17/26 for a backup gun. I changed my mind after I held one. It just felt too heavy to make an ankle gun. Still a very cool gun, and I almost bought one anyway just to carry off-duty, but decided for a belt gun it didn’t offer anything the P239 I was carrying at the time had. GlockTrader45
It is definitely a bit chunky for an ankle rig. I'll probably end up carrying it the same way I carry my P229: IWB @ 3 o'Clock/3:30.
GlockTrader45
Made it to the range at lunch today. First target is 5 shots at 25 yards; fist shot double action, next four single action. Second target is between 5–15 yards D/A with a follow up S/A shot.
Collim1
Pretty good shooting. Is this a .40 gun? I never got To shoot a P224. My issued P226 was a .40, and I always assumed the P224 would handle the recoil better than the Glock 27. Edited August 2, 2018 by Collim1

blueiron
A nice little pistol that SiG released far too late for buyer interest and that doomed it to obscurity.
