"I want to be the guy that gets paid to name kitchen appliances.  All you do is take whatever it is and add er to it.  "What's this do?"  "It keeps things fresh."  "It's a Fresher."  I'm going on break."

I was brought up in the age where many called a refrigerator an "Ice Box".

That's a refrigerator?  I thought it was something about my ex-wife

Ahhh, the multiple definitions applied to  American grammar...….

That's what makes it so hard for foreigners to learn.....

My personal favorite name for it is The Coolerator.

The idioms just confuse the heck out of foreigners.  I've helped a few with some parts of English, but even as a native speaker there are many parts that don't make any sense to me.

Ok, medical question for all you bio docs

diastasis recti x 6cm

I can’t do crunches or planks, no heavy lifting.

options?

.

Diastasis recti in men
You may have heard about diastasis recti in postpartum women, but the condition can affect anyone, including men. The most notable symptom of diastasis recti is a noticeable pooch in your stomach. This pooch is caused by weakness and separation of the muscles in the mid-abdomen.

Can a Diastasis Recti be fixed?
Surgery to repair diastasis recti is substantial and should not be undertaken lightly. Technically, an operation that serves to repair diastasis recti is known as a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. "However, it's not a one-size-fits-all operation," says Dr. Brenner.

When I type a post it is interesting to me that I may miss or add one letter and change the word into something completely different.  It must be terribly hard to get thrown into American English at middle age.
