the connection to 4 and 6 is closed, 5 is blocked

3 is smaller that 2 and will fill to the sideline first, but it is blocked. So while 7 is filling, 3 will top off.

I concur with ric of D.

Some of those sound good.

I laughed at menu 4. They finally put PopTarts in the MREs.

(PopTarts have been a combat zone staple for years)

I have no idea what you galoots are talking about.

We always had great, hot meals abourd ship and at the base.

Served on china.

With a knife and a fork.

And all of the powerful coffee and over-sweetened Kool Aid we could drink.

Snacks from 00:00 to 04:00 hours.

When the bullets start flying.....it’s hard to dig a foxhole in a deck.

and you can only run....so far

And as far as girls......we didn’t have to wait for a port call.

Pulled from facebook.  The "99% will fail" is a bit overstated.  Reading through, looks more like about 66% fail.

Personally, I say #3

Yup - 3.  And if the water flowing into 1 isn't enough to fill it faster than it drains into #3, then #3 is the ONLY one that will fill - the level in 1 won't get high enough to start filling 2.

We used to pull into small isolated islands in the Mediterranean (Crete is such a non-descript place) and have ship beer parties too.  Every port we stopped at, we were taken out on deck and shown the portions of town the stay away from, because of all the bad sex. (I swear this is true)

Our Captain bought a wicker covered bottle of wine, that was the biggest piece of glassware I have ever seen.  It was about 3 feet around and very high.  We had it lashed to the forward gun mount (which was the only gun mount).  MSO, ya know!

The bad part was when we ran out of milk and bought a shitload of Goat's milk to get us by.  I "passed" (I may have misspelled this) on that.

Most weekends in our home port were "open galley".  Butter/steaks/whole cakes from town.  It was rough!

Kind of hard to jump out of a foxhole with nowhere to go.  I told people that if things got too rough, I could always jump overboard.

We went to many ports of call that were so isolated that the Army and Marines never came there.  We also had more money than European sailors to spend.

When we got so drunk that we couldn't stand up, the shore Patrol would drive us back to our ship and a warm bed to recover.

After you had a hard night or two partying in port, the ship got you out of there pretty quick.

Besides, an MSO was so small nobody cared about shooting at us.  Just blowing up.

The Navy guys were so well thought of, that the bar girls would follow the Sixth Fleet from port to port around the Med.  It was kind of spooky when the girl you left in one port, would be there waiting in the next port as you came in.

Carousing the bars and being brought home by the SP was a thing that the ratings did.

In port, junior officers had the watch, the deck, the con,  OD and anything else the Exec could think of.

All part of making us officers and gentlemen.

:sigh:

Didn't work, did it?

I also had Quarter Deck watch, and it was funny to see the drunken Sailors trying to dodge the sharpened pencils shot from a 1911.
