Florida's highest point is the lowest highest point of all the states highest point. The wife and I were there, kind of a we were in the area kind of trip.

The state is based on sandstone.  Not a lot to it.  I spent a lot of time there.

It's a curious mix of oh my gosh i cant imagine how pretty this state is...and the reverse.

I've seen some sun sets in Florida that were unrealistically pretty.

I had only one experience with that thing...

"If you call it...it will come"...

I won't even LOOK at one of those ******* things....and I damn sure won't tell the story...

Yes, "Come to hell" was our equivalent of "We want to talk about your car's extended warranty".

I was born in GA and my family, who all were native Floridians, moved back to FL. when I was 2 weeks old. I love FL and it is filled with beautiful places to see, those that haven't been destroyed by obscene commercialism. (billboards, rampant, uncontrolled tourism, etc.) I grew up swimming in pristine springs which are a side effect of that sandstone base and a low topography which gives us easy access to crystal clear water flowing in caverns just below the surface. Just one of the pluses of being raised in FL. I've also grew up dealing with swarms of mosquitos, gnats and other biting insects, we have them all, and the constant oppressive humidity 9 months out of the year. It is possible to hate FL and love FL all in a 5 minute time span. I love it here most of the time but my wife and I spend most of our off time, especially vacations travelling because America is truly blessed with some awesome landscapes.
