Now renovation has come to town, and the old warehouses have been converted into million dollar condos. Some of the parking lots at the condos charge $10 an hour to park. Some of the old businesses are still there, and visiting an Electronics outfit, I find it amusing to see all the yuppies scuttling between the artsy shops in their expressive costumes, trying to make rent money. I know the Electronics business owner, and he owns a full block building in the middle of that area. He kept telling me he was holding out for "X" millions of dollars for his property. Shortly after, the bottom fell out of the "million dollar condo" market and he is still doing business there but with much lower expectations of real estate value.
