Does anybody know the name/manufacturer of the wheels? I remember seeing them on Mercury Cougars.

Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson tracked it down while doing research on another experimental Shelby he has owned for over 15 years that’s nicknamed “The Green Hornet.” The Green Hornet and Little Red are the only GT500-style cars Shelby built using notchback-roof Mustangs instead of the familiar fastback design

the story doesn't say say anything about the rims. But they must be the original as the restoration was complete.

but those aren’t the ones that were on it when it was found.

Apparently they weren’t original, but I have seen those as well on Cougars, older Mustangs, etc

it has gone through a couple of owners before discovery.....probably never know

I have always liked the Avanti.

I remember building a model of it as a lad.

Except the subsequent convertible.

That was ugly.

I wish Studebaker had survived.

They had some interesting designs.
