If you pay close attention to cars spinning out in NASCAR, when they are on their wheels rolling or sliding backward down the track flaps pop up on the roofs to create drag. This was an Art Deco-inspired car, made in the mid-to-late thirties. If you search for shark nose Graham on Google Images, you will find plenty of them.
