Disparity of weather in your area.

In most areas of the US, the weather is pretty much the same for hundreds of miles.

In mountainous regions like here, Colorado, California, Utah, etc. The weather and climate can be vastly different in a distance of 20 miles or so.

My daughter wanted to take my grandson sledding but we've had a very mild winter so far.  I told her I would go and check out the mountains to see if we could sled.

I drove 23 miles from my house and found snow, but it was too wet.  It was 32 degrees in the woods and when I got back to town, it was 40 and rainy.

I love living in an area with so much diversity of climate and terrain.

Hopefully we'll get some more "normal" winter weather for sledding.
