Walt Longmire
Out of boredom, I drove the F250 out a frozen trail to my remote cabin. It's below zero today. Dropped a couple beetle killed spruce trees and bucked them up. Stuff was dry as a bone. I have the truck backed in the garage so I don't have to roll the wagon out to the wood shed every couple days. Plus the house now smells like fresh cut wood. I have the door between the house and garage propped open. Life is good, and I didn't kill myself out there doing this by myself. got some fresh air, exercise and a good dose of 2 stroke smoke. Must be beer thirty. Tipping one to Kyle and the justice system. 10

gwalchmai
Sounds like good work! Mrs. G sold a little stack of cherry firewood on the FB for $60 yesterday. Sounds like a surefire moneymaker if you don't consider the costs...

Turns out the guy is big on the BBQ circuit. He said he'll buy all I can cut. I did a little research and the prices for this stuff are crazy. He got a great deal, actually, compared to regular market prices.
tous
You might could make a deal to trade desired wood for expertly heated cow parts.

Fog
I keep all the cherry I cut for smoking meat. I'll make the hamburgers for a BBQ with cherry smoke and people can't believe how good they taste.

Walt Longmire
Here is what a load, not stacked, of old growth local spruce looks like in my F 250. This was cut last year at my remote cabin.

I split some with a mall, but I do have a 27 ton hydraulic splitter at the wood shed, and a 5 ton electric next to the wood stove for making kindling.

pipedreams
Well I took my turn. Split up two truck loads of ash and oak this morning with grandsons help. Temp in the 30's made it ideal for working.
Walt Longmire
Went out again today. 3 bad ass trucks. Filled them all with wood. My idea of a good time. I took pics this time, and will post some when the camera is recharged. Off road, chainsaws. sawdust. I was grunting like Tim the Toolman Taylor. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh.
