pipedreams
In the late 1960's, like today, China through Cuba financed the Weather Underground Antifa, Black Liberation Movement, Students For a Democrat Society & Symbanese Liberation Army, Middle East Terrorist groups operating out of Palestine finance the Muslim Black Panthers. Nixon came down hard & went after all of them. Many in leadership positions were given safe houses to live in or fled to Cuba & Canada & when Jimmy Carter got elected he hung the FBI out to dry & pardoned all of them.. I always thought it was a damn shame Patty Hearst was out grocery shopping when the L.A.P.D. blew this safe house up with everyone in it.. We have much better surveillance tools today & there's nowhere to run & nowhere to hide... We already have one in Washington that has turned himself in, telling me the family attorney told him to rat on the leaders will be the only way to avoid decades in prison..

26isbest
Well that POS Carter also made Ramsey Clark his AG (with instructions not to mess with corrupt Tn Governor Blanton) and sent POS race baiter Andrew Young to the UN as US Ambassador where he accused just about every White country of racism. It was in the wake of the 1968 Chicago DNC riots that the SDS dissolved itself and split into three factions. The largest batch by far decided to infiltrate the Democratic party, and by 1980 had great success, including Tom Hayden getting elected to the CA State Senate as a mainstream Dim candidate. The 2nd faction was the Weather Underground and the third was the SWP/INCAR. It was the third faction that has butt birthed the Black Block/Occupy/Antifa scum. 1

Blanton was a typical democrat with little integrity and a lot of scandals. There was a song the morning radio shows adapted from Chattanooga Choo-Choo titled "Pardon Me Ray"...... lyrics - double rape and triple murder..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Blanton On January 15, 1979, near the end of his term, Blanton issued pardons to 52 state prisoners,[11] including 20 convicted murderers.[4] Among those pardoned was Roger Humphreys, the son of a Blanton supporter, who had been convicted of killing his ex-wife and a male companion in 1973.[1] As Blanton signed Humphreys' pardon, he stated, "this takes guts." The Secretary of State, Gentry Crowell, who was disgusted with the pardons, replied, "some people have more guts than brains."[5] Although never formally charged in the pardons matter, Blanton was eventually indicted on charges of mail fraud, conspiracy, and extortion for selling liquor licenses. He was convicted and sentenced to federal prison. Released on July 18, 1986 [13] after serving 22 months,[1] he returned to Tennessee. Although a panel of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals initially reversed the convictions because of the way in which the district court conducted the voir dire,[14] that decision was vacated by the court's decision to re-hear the case en banc. The full Sixth Circuit Court affirmed Blanton's convictions, and the Supreme Court denied review.[15] In January 1988, 9 of the 11 charges were thrown out in a separate appeal.[1] Later life Edited July 4, 2020 by PPQer 2

I learned who he was while stationed @ NATTC Memphis, Millington Tn for A school in early 1978. Just what the local news covered at that time, regarding a trip to Jamaica IIRC, made him look pretty damned corrupt. Later, after reading the book Marie by Peter Maas, I was amazed at how much corruption that Carter was complicit in that the media was willing to ignore so they could portray Carter as a saint. 2
PPQer
IIRC, that was the height of the scandals.
