I have a bunch, but this one seems to find its way into my range bag more regularly than the others:

A model 19, the original 19. :wiggle:

These are the only pics I can find of her. She's dirty and she has fingerprints all over her, but she still looks sharp. This is after putting a few hundred downrange.

Same as mine except mine is a -1. Never guess where I got it. OK, I'll give in. Private collection from one of the Reese boys from Springfield Armory. I do have the wooden grips that are on it as of now.

The S&W Model 15 .38 Special is my favorite, it is a very nice gun.

And, here is another favorite, the Speed Six .357 Magnum, I wish they still made it.

I had a Speed six years ago an dit was my carry gun. I bobbed the hammer and had a trigger job done on it. I preferred the speed six to either the short barreled fixes distght GP 100 or the SP 101.  they were lighter and more compact than the GP100 but held one more round than the SP101. Mine was stainless and had rteh standar grips with a Tyler T-grip adaptor.

People tend to think that an auto is fast, and a revolver is slow; but I liked the Speed Six because: it was light, and fast, and shot .357 Magnum bullets.

And it does feel better in my hand that a GP-100, which feels top heavy to me.

I do agree, the GP100 does feel top heavy compared to the old -Six series guns, but I have to say that I like the double action triggers on the current crop, especially after a little smoothing and re-springing.

My current carry is a little heavy, but it does carry well in a good belt and holster.  My leather rig is done by Kramer, and it carries this svelte beauty.....

How incredible, this is the same serial number of the Rhino I owned in 2013. It looks like my photo too.

I have the two inch and the four inch.  I like the 4 inch better and carried it a lot more.  Wonderful shooting fun with full house loads.

Early in the thread I listed my top two. A 686P-4 and a 640 (no dash). I finally snapped a picture. It also includes another sweet shooter. A police trade in 65-3. I could pretty much meet all my handgun needs with these 3. HD and carry.

Sorry for thread jacking....Anyone remember old detective shows like Peter Gunn? Funny how all the shooters are using wheel guns. Not a semi-auto in the place. Yes, I know why...

For many years all "training" blank-firing weapons were revolvers.  Even when we did not use them during live firing, and would not be issued one, we still trained with blank-firing revolvers because, well, it's what they had.

I believe it also allowed multiple shots where a  semi-auto firing  blanks might not.

I mentioned in a previous post my favorite Smith and Wesson's, a model 58 41 magnum, and a model 27 3 2/2 inch. I also like the model 53 22 Jet. But I have a couple of Rugers that I really like. One is the stainless Speed six 2 1/2 inch barrel and the other is the Blued 10 1/2 inch Blackhawk.  A friend if mine has one of these, an early New Model with no warning label on the barrel. The 10 1/2 inch SBH is simply amazing to shoot.

Not only is it accurate. but the extra weight out front with the longer barrel completely tames the recoil and muzzle flip even with hot heavy bullet Buffalo Bore loads, and even with the factory grips! No need to put dumbass rubber grips on the gun. I hate Rubber grips especially on classic guns.  The only ones that I can tolerate are the Hogue's that Smith and Wesson put on certain models of the 29 and 629 that had the factory Smith and Wesson medallion.

Another Ruger that I used to own that I really liked was the 30 carbine Blackhawk with the 7 `1/2 inch barrel. I had one of these back in the early 80's when you could still get mil-surp 30 carbine ammo for a reasonable price but I also reloaded for it. It was a lot of fun and had no recoil but was the loudest gun I ever shot.

Model 58 41 magnum. The first one I ever shot belonged to a friend of mine in high school in 1965. We shot it with the original .41 Magnum 210 grain LSWC Police load which was loaded by both Winchester and Remington with a 210 grain semi-wadcutter at about 950 fps and it was very pleasant to shoot.

For years afterward I wanted one of those guns and few years back I finally got one in very nice condition. I also happened to find an ancient green and white box of Remington 210 grain "Hunting loads" to try the gun out with but with those skinny service grips that gun was extremely painful to shoot. I didn't have the heart to put rubber grips on such a classic original gun so I got a Tyler T-grip adaptor for it and then got a set of dies and started working up reloads.  I duplicated the police load and worked up a defensive load using 210 grain Hornady XTP's, I also found that Winchester 210 grain Silvertips were comfortable to shoot out of the gun with the Tyler T grip adaptor on the gun.

I tried other modern loads in the gun including Winchester 240 grain "Platinum tips" and Hornady custom 210 grain XTP's (supposedly 1545 fps/1113 fpe) and nothing recoiled as much as the old Remington 210 grain JSP's.

Turns out I posted already and can't delete, sorry for the duplication. Sort of depends on application but I've got more rounds through this old Smith than all my others. I've also been fairly successful shooting it.
