Dan Fogelberg - The Last Nail,   always kicks up a lot of dust and alergens in my house.

Gordon Lightfoot - Song for a Winter's,  sadness and loanliness.  The 1974 version is my fav.  Lee Holdridge did the orchestration.

Carly Simon - Happy Birthday,  about growing up and taking responsbity

A bittersweet song, but I like the progression more than the lyrics.

I love the Bob Wills Texas swing meter, the horns fit just right and don't feel forced like so many arrangements in pop songs

Either way, just a wonderful tune.

I like Dean Martin's singing, but Tom Jones did the best version of Green, Green Grass of Home.

I like to sing to my songs.  On this particular song his timing and mine don't work as well as Dean Martins.  I can sing with Dean better.  But they both do it well.

My favorite Elvis program/concert. And this seems quite well edited.

He is very good at singing the songs as though he believed or lived them.  I think his ability to convey the emotion of the song made for his popularity.
