PNWguy
Did one trip up to the Couer D'Alene river and did catch and release Cutthroat Trout. My brother beat me by an inch with this 20" trout...

Not much for table fare, but if you want a fight look into grass carp. More fun than being naked. Flathed, aka, op, yellow cat, and a host of other regional names eat very well, have a strong fight, and can get big enough to do something about it. The only catfish in the lower 48 that is a sole predator. That makes a difference to a lot of folks even though their loyalty is misplaced quite often on the subject. Walt Longmire
You guys need to visit Alaska and catch some really big ones. A 200 pound halibut will wear you out. 75 pound King Salmon will too.

Not many freshwater fish will give you the argument that salt water will. They are fun to catch. The recommendation of the carp, they fight a rivaling a Red fish. They sure don't taste like them, though. Striper are a hoot as well. Bass size tackle. Edited February 20, 2021 by LostinTexas
