GlocknSpiehl
Ok, so my wife is now there starting her new job. I’m here packing up the house to get it ready to rent, hopefully furnished so I don’t have to move out the furniture. She’s loving it there and sending me pics so that I can get ready. Among other things, so far, she’s found a Five Guys and a Tim Hortens. LOL Rents there don’t look too bad: 2BR 2BA apts, brand new, about $2K, utilities included. Furnished slightly higher. I’m applying for jobs and working to transfer my license. Want to move there by March 1. Pics to follow. Duluth
I've read drinking alcohol there can be complicated. You used to have a permit to drink. They eased up on that recently.
GlocknSpiehl
Technically you need a license yo buy alcohol for off premises consumption. Like everything, dont be stupid and they leave you alone. IOW, don't be drinking in public from a paper sack... 1
Lazy R
A friend of mine moved there last year. His wife has some kind of special teaching job. He likes it.
RenoF250
I was talking to a pilot in the hotel bar that lives in Dubai and asked him about odd laws. He said if you are driving and flip someone off, expect to see the police later. And if you go full road rage you will likely lose your license. Also, if you look at someones phone without permission -3 months in jail. They sound odd but I expected odd that is why I asked. I would definitely look into all the rules while there.
