Paul53
Can we all agree to the following: A hotdog is a meat product. A hotdog in bread is a sammich in American culture.
Historian
All day I've been thinking of this: I think the answer is... It's a open faced sausage sandwich.

Hmmmm...A breaded pork cutlet; chicken fried steak. Where does this end? I vote, with the hot dog!

janice6
A Hot dog is eaten from the end. a Sandwich is eaten from the side. Any thing you eat from the end, isn't a sandwich.

No. In America they are called hot dogs even though the bun is made of bread and even if you wrap a slice of bread around a hot dog, it's still a hot dog. Only in some backward foreign country would they be called sandwiches. Edited December 2, 2019 by Borg warner

Huaco Kid
Since "diners" aren't so frequent any more, and all the restaurants are millenial-fied, they are "handhelds". On the menu, right under "Proteins" and "Starches" and "Bowls", is "Handhelds". That's where the hotdogs are listed. 1
Wrango
Nope. A hotdog is both the sausage and the combined bun/sausage food item. Anyone that thinks otherwise is simply not right in the head.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Oh yeah....that was another thing I like about mine....rear wheel drive!!! Plus, you could push a button to get it into 4 wheel "high". Stop the vehicle, put it in neutral and then push a button for 4 wheel "low". I never came close to getting stuck in that thing.

Huaco Kid
It was parked at the hotel every morning for a week (I never saw the crew and never got my weeny-whistle). I came out one morning and it was gone. The overnight-desk-guy was out there and I said, "No weeny-mobile today?!?" It must have been stationed close by, because he said, "Eh. It comes and goes." Milk almost came out of my nose, and I wasn't even drinking milk. 1
