r3dot
That's kind of what happens when you break a policy. If you're going to carry a gun where you're not allowed, expect you'll be fired if you have to use it. 2

Having been in managerial positions on more than one occasion, I agree that if a policy is broken actions have to be taken. Now, regarding this incident, she did violate policy in order to protect herself and her place of employment. Management then decided that terminate was the proper action. If Circle K will not provide adequate protection for its employees, and will not allow them to protect themselves, then I will not spend my dollars at any Circle K stations. Bad policies sometimes require actions from the customers they serve.

gwalchmai
Circle K is well within their rights to fire her. Their former customers are well within their rights to shop elsewhere. Ain't freedom grand?

If you break a policy in the NFL, expect to be celebrated and lauded by the league Commissioner. 1

Vote with your dollars until Circle K allows employees to avoid being murdered or raped while serving shitty food, working fucked up schedules.
fortyofforty
My formerly local 7-11 was recently robbed at gunpoint. Never happened while I was there getting coffee. It can happen anywhere, at any time. Remain vigilant.
Tahmail
I have no tolerance for this. My BIL was shot working for 7/11 (he lived). I don't even enter them unarmed.

PNWguy
I know of no convenience stores that allow employees to carry. Used to have two Circle Ks in my town, last one shut down about ten years ago.

ChuteTheMall
I can't think of any retail or convenience chain that would risk it's deep pockets by publicly allowing an employee to carry, in violation of policy. Don't feed the lawyers.
fortyofforty
It could have no policy. You legally carry concealed? Go ahead. You don't want to carry? Don't. Maybe we have been feeding the lawyers for far too long.
